Backyard Vacation, Really!

I don't know about you, but I'm so sick of the term "staycation." It might well be the most overused made-up word of the decade (OK, there are others that might be worse, but I digress). There are far better ways to describe a close-to-home mini-vacation. Doubletree Hotels has coined the "Backyard Vacation" for its latest promotion, and it they really seem to understand the concept.


This past weekend, hubby and I loaded the kids into the SUV and headed south to Santa Monica.
