There are over 80,000 registered voters in the City of Santa Clarita and, if past trends hold true, only about 15% of them will vote in the City Council election on April 13th. I truly believe that the low voter turnout is not because people don't care, it's because we lead busy lives, often going in 100 directions at once, and many people think their vote doesn't make much of a difference.

I know you're busy but if you think that your vote doesn't count--you're wrong.

Getting from here to there. Such a simple concept...except when you live in a city with two winding obstacles: A river and a railroad.

This April will mark the two year anniversary of my joining the Santa Clarita City Council. Time flies when you’re having fun and it also flies when you are in an action-packed, non-stop job that you love. I feel like a lucky gal, indeed.

I'm going to pause for a moment of silence as I give thanks for my computer.

Okay, I'm back. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without the ability to get things done and find things out with a click of the mouse. There simply is not enough time in the day and some of my most productive hours are between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. when my husband and kids are nestled all snug in their beds.
